“The facts, while very interesting, have little to do with the decision”. The famous quote applies beautifully to audio amplifiers. If you ask any competent amplifier designer what specification is the most important, they will usually respond with “all of them” or “none of them”. The reason is that the specifications are the end result of designing an amplifier that has characteristics that the designer believes produces great music. Are watts per channel important? Sure, but are 500 watts better than 50? That depends on what you think the word “better” means. More power? More control? There is no wrong answer, it is simply a matter of understanding what the term means.
We have selected partners from around the world that share a couple of common traits. First, they all put the music first and the specifications second. Secondly, their designers voice understand that the goal is better music; timbre, timing, linearity etc and focus on those traits. Finally, all our partners have been in business for a long time and enjoy outstanding build quality and offer unmatched customer service.
We are a family company, managed by its proprietors. If we pose the question: why is T+A equipment so special? Then we find the answer in the following situation: we grant ourselves the freedom to implement our convictions; to focus on decades, rather than just the next quarter. It is precisely this independence of action which enables us to accomplish long-term goals. For example, we took three years to develop the first device in our HV series, and it was perfect. Our company founder loves music and technology, believes in science and the laws of physics, and always aimed to push those limits as far as possible; every single T+A device incorporates those convictions. These values will continue to be our companions for generations to come.
